Welcome to GHFF
The Georgia Hunting and Fishing Federation is a grassroots organization that is committed to promoting the outdoor sports. Founded in September 2003 hunters and fishermen from all over Georgia organized and held a rally in Blackshear, GA. with nearly 5000 folks in attendance. From this start GHFF has formed local chapters all over the state. The GHFF has worked with the legislation and DNR to preserve and protect some age old hunting traditions and to implement some changes to improve hunting and encourage kids to get involved in outdoor sports. The GHFF Expo is held each year to promote awareness of our organization and expose the public to the latest equipment and opportunities available in the great outdoors.

Georgia Hunting & Fishing Federation - Habersham/White County Chapter - Kids Fishing Day - Georgia Hunting & Fishing Federation
The Habersham/White County Chapter held a kids fishing day on Saturday May 20. We had 23 children attend. They caught crappie, bass, catfish and turtles. Bobby Irvin owner of Irvin's Store donated his private pond for the children. Bobby demonstrated how to clean the fish. He also cooked the fish and the kids enjoyed eating their fish.
Georgia Hunting & Fishing Federation - Waterfowl Hunters can make plans earlier in the year:
DATES AND SEASON REGULATIONS APPROVED
WATERFOWL HUNTERS CAN MAKE PLANS EARLIER IN THE YEAR: DATES AND SEASON REGULATIONS APPROVED
Waterfowl hunters in Georgia can do something in May that they formerly were not able to - make season hunting plans. Thanks to a new earlier approval process by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, migratory bird season hunting dates and regulations were approved for the 2016-17 season by the Board of Natural Resources.
"The 2016-17 migratory bird hunting season will remain similar to previous years, including an early teal hunting season and special youth hunting days," said Greg Balkcom, state waterfowl biologist for the Wildlife Resources Division. "There is one noteworthy change this year, and it affects sea duck hunters who hunt offshore. The daily bag limit for sea ducks has been reduced to five and can include no more than four scoters, four eiders, or four long-tailed ducks."

To keep dog hunting legal and restore the right to have fox pens in Florida
Keep Dog Hunting Legal
To help protect our right to dog hunt in southern states this will be shared. Florida lost the right on fox pens and this is a chance to regain the ability dismiss this rule. (68A-24.002 and 68A-9.002, F.A.C.,) that allowed for chasing foxes/coyotes in an enclosure.
That's why I signed a petition to Florida wildlife commission and Florida state legislature, which says:
"To keep dog hunting legal and restore the right to have fox pens in Florida"
Will you sign this petition?

Hunters Helping Farmers
Hunters Helping Farmers is a new private lands initiative opportunity that seeks to match up hog hunters in the same county with farmers that need assistance with hog removal. This initiative is a partnership effort between the Georgia Department of Agriculture and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources in order to help landowners manage the damaging impact of feral hogs.
